With Video: Hartland Regatta Provides Fun Family Entertainment

The second annual Cardboard Regatta took place on Saturday at Waldenwoods.

The second annual , which took place at on Saturday provided an afternoon of family entertainment in Hartland.

The event was sponsored by the Hartland Rotary Club which raised money for several organizations including Gleaners.

Entertainment was provided by decorated boats constructed of cardboard as they raced through a course on Lake Walden.

The entry of the "Big Cheese," a boat built by the staff of Waldenwoods, came away with the award for "Most Spectacular Sinking" and provided the cheering crowd with some big laughs. (See attached video.) The boat, however, did eventually make it to the finish line to complete the race.

Brian Crouse of Waldenwoods, who had three boat entries for the day, said the key to having a successful boat was to follow the instructions provided by the Hartland Rotary Club.

"It takes a little experience," he said. "But it's good to follow the instructions."
