Update Your Home and Save Money!

There's still time in 2013 to update your home AND cash in on tax credits!
The Feds have extended the energy tax credit for installing doors, windows and skylights through December 31, 2013.  If you've already made an upgrade this year or are planning to in the next couple weeks, you may be able to claim up to $500 in tax credits.
Make your front door pay for itself!  First impressions are everything and a front door definitely adds to the overall curb appeal of your home.  Whether for your own personal satisfaction or to add value to your home for resale purposes, a new front door is definitely a good place to put your money!  For doors, you can claim up to a $500 credit on your taxes PLUS the overall saving on your future energy bills is sure to put a smile on your face!
Windows and skylights offer up to a $200 TOTAL credit and you do NOT have to replace all your windows to be eligible for the credit.  You can replace that one cracked or chipped window that's been an eyesore of your home for many years, or maybe just that one foggy window that has a seal broken, and still be eligible for the credit.  As a buyers agent, I always make my client aware of the "expensive" fixes or upgrades: Heating and Cooling Systems, Roof and WINDOWS!  It's definitely well worth the upgrade again, not only for your personal savings on your future energy bills but also for resale purposes.
