Hartland Archery Places 3rd at Worlds Plus More Tips for the Week Ahead

It's Monday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in Hartland to help make your week a little brighter, easier and more fun. For a full list of things to do this week, look at the Patch calendar of events.

1. Names in the News

The Hartland High School Archery team shot at the National Archery in the Schools Programs World Tournament in St. Louis. There was over 140 teams and over 3000 archers at this event. These archers qualified for this event this past May at Nationals in Louisville, KY. Hartland has competed at Worlds the previous 4 years and has been close to reaching the podium as a team the past few years, but has only had 4 archers reach the podium at Worlds as individuals. Finally this year all of the archers from Hartland were able to step up on the podium with pride and honor with a 3rd place finish. Many of Hartland's archers finished in the Top 25 and some even in the Top 10 as well.

2. For the kids
On Monday at 1 p.m., the Commons is offering a class to learn about videography, scene direction, choreography, and video editing as you design, and star in a group music video.

3. Summertime fun
Outdoor Summer Concerts on the Village South Lawn: Bring your picnic, or pick up some brats and dogs from partners Ranger's 4-H and free, fresh popcorn. Rain or shine.

4. Save the date
On Tuesday, RetakeOurGov welcomes Mr. Gary Beckner, Executive Director of the Association of American Educators (AAE), to its July meeting.  AAE is a professional organization for educators, somewhat similar to the American Medical Association (for doctors) or the State Bar (for lawyers).

5. For your information
This Thursday, July 11 starting at 8 a.m., a Used Book Sale will take place at St. Mary Magdalene in Brighton.
