Hartland Carnival and More Tips for the Week Ahead

Here are five pieces of information to help fuel your week in Hartland.

It's Monday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in Hartland to help make your week a little brighter, easier and more fun. For a full list of things to do this week, look at the Patch calendar of events.

1. Summertime fun

The carnival comes to town starting Thursday and discounted tickets for the 3-day event are now available. The hours will be: Thursday & Friday 4-11 p.m.; Saturday 12-11 p.m.; and Sunday 1-8 p.m.

2. Save the date
The graduation ceremony for the Class of 2013 will take place at the Compuware Arena in Plymouth. The ceremony starts at 7 p.m.

3. Local voice of the week
Capturing the inner workings of life is a passion of mine! My fascination with life and nature has remained a constant throughout my years, and is reflected in my art. I hope to inspire as much as I am inspired by the world around me! Stop by and experience a whole new world! (Read more here.)

4. Around town
The 10th annual balloon launch for the SOS support group for Livingston County will be held on June 6 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at St. Joseph Mercy Livingston Hospital on Byron Road, Howell. If you have lost someone to suicide, join to remember those they have lost.

5. In case you missed it
Last Monday, a billboard featuring Virginia Millen, 73, of Hartland, along with three of her grandchildren, was put on display along I-75 in Madison Heights asking for the public’s help in finding the Hartland grandmother a kidney.
