Hartland and the Great War Plus More Tips for the Week Ahead

Here are five tips to help fuel your week in Hartland.

It's Monday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in Hartland to help make your week a little brighter, easier and more fun. For a full list of things to do this week, look at the Patch calendar of events.

1. At the library

Join published historian and Hartland High School teacher Paul Scheidler as he discusses Hartland and the men who were part of the war to end all wars, World War I. This event is part of Big Read 2014, preparing for the time of "The Great Gatsby" beginning on March 29. Register online at www.cromaine.org and meet us at Cromaine Library in the Village. 

2. In the community
Priority 1 CPR is a NEW business that has just opened up in the area owned and ran by a paramedic who has performed CPR in the Field. We offer CPR/First Aid and AED Training. We follow the American Heart Association Guidelines. Classes are being scheduled for the upcoming month/s. On Angels Wings Relay for Life Craft/Vendor Show located at South Mundy United Methodist Church, is Still Seeking Vendors. Only $20 per table and this money is being donated to Relay for Life. For any questions please call or text Melanie at: 810-247-1811 or email: melaniejean@gmail.com.

4. In case you missed it
Livingston County residents are invited to attend the Seventh Annual Community Connect on Feb. 1 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Parker Middle School in Howell.

The Mother/Son and Father /Daughter Valentine Dances are just around the corner. Don't forget to do early registration. Under the Recreation heading you will find the dances.
