1. Arts, Beats and Eats

  • When: August 30, 31 and Sept. 1 and 2
  • Where: Downtown Royal Oak
  • What: More than 50 of the area's most-loved restaurants will set up shop on the downtown Royal Oak streets.
2. Voyageur Canoe Trip
  • When: August 31
  • Where: Kensington Metropark West Boat Launch
  • What: Help paddle the 34-feet Voyageur canoe while exploring the islands and bays of Kent Lake. Preregistration mandatory. For additional information on registration and payment for this program, please call 810-227-8910.
2. Old St. Patrick Labor Day Weekend Festival
  • When: August 31 and September 1, 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. 
  • Where: 5671 Whitmore Lake Road, Ann Arbor
  • What: Music with The Kielbasa Kings, Billy Mack and the Juke Joint Johnnies, and the Bullwhip Country Band games and activities including petting zoo, face painting, inflatables, rock climbing wall, bungee jump, cake walk and more.
4. Book, Magazine, CD, and DVD Exchange
  • When: August 31
  • Where: Recycle Livingston
  • What: Bring your contributions and take some "new to you" items to enjoy. Contributed items that don't find a new home may be responsibly recycled at the end of the site day.
