1. Smokin' Jazz Festival
- When: Sept. 6 and 7
- Where: Downtown Brighton
- What: A signature event for Brighton, the Smokin' Jazz Festival features talented musicians and food vendors smokin’ up the streets of Downtown Brighton.
- When: Sept. 7 at 9:30 a.m.
- Where: Hartland Music Hall
- What: Encore Youth Theater is holding auditions for The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus. Doors open for registration at 9:00 am and registration closes at 9:30 am. All children aged 8-18 are encouraged to audition regardless of previous theater experience.
- When: Sept. 6 at 6 p.m.
- Where: Kahuna Coffee
- What: Come listen to some great music; this band plays ambient rock with a blues influence.
- When: Sept. 7 at 8 a.m.
- Where: Downtown Brighton
- What: The annual event supports the 9-11 memorial, a project that began with community fundraising efforts in 2011 when the fire department traveled to New York and "brought back a piece of history."
