Hartland Area Fire Department — Main Station (61)
810-632-7676
The Hartland Area Fire Department was founded in 1927, but its mission grew when it joined Tyrone and Deerfield townships to create a fire authority in 2003. Tyrone later withdrew from the partnership, but the agency still serves 73 square miles among the three communities, with 54 on-call and four full-time employees. The authority answered more than 800 calls in 2009 and is on track for about 1,000 this year. The main station, built in 1976 and remodeled in 2001, features a ladder truck, two engines, a heavy-rescue vehicle, a brush truck and a medical truck.
