The Hartland Schools will not be the same without Dar Keuhn!!!! She is a wonderful, dedicatedRead More person with a wild sense of humor. It was such a pleasure to work with her when I was the Payroll person awhile back. Good Luck Dar!

While I'm thinking about it.... USA Archery is in the process right now of coming up with theRead More requirements for a "Basic Compound" bow, that will allow you to keep shooting the genesis bow used in the NASP competition, and be competitive in USA Archery tournaments.

Congrats on a great tournament!

Didn't even mention politics. Not their party affiliation - you're the one that sees politics inRead More it. I agree with Clyde. It's not only about actually speaking the language, it's about being able to learn something new and complicated. A skill that helps anyone. Pulling out the requirement reeks of low expectations - it's killing the American education system.

I agree that SOME students will benefit from learning an additional language, I disagree with itRead More being a mandatory requirement. I have a son with mild learning difficulties and always struggled with school. With all the additional requirements made on students and teachers, we was unable to get the additional guidance and time needed to actually learn. I now have a college student that can't pass a basic english class because he was passed along and not taught! So speaking to the other side of this coin....not ALL students can learn the same, nor will they need the same skills. My son is very bright (yes he's been tested, yes he's been tutored, I will not go into all the details here) but the all these additional requirements allow kids like him to fall through the cracks when they don't have the time and effort to learn the basics along the way.

Taking a foreign language should be an option and not a requirement. Let the parents, parent theirRead More children. Have the discussion with their children and bring up the positive points of learning an additional language. if a kid is more inclined to be geared for a technical aptitude and doesn't feel that a foreign language is important, then why require them to learn something they are NOT INTERESTED IN. If you require it, and the kid isn't interested, what will they gain out of it? (frustration and disappointment) Our educational system is broke. We don't identify where kids talents are centered. We force feed them the basics and if they can't adapt to that, we fail them. Basics are always important, but if you a technically advanced child, shouldn't they load up on classes that foster that? (Computers, Math, Science) It's no different than coaching kids. Not every kid can be the quarterback, but they run fast and they can catch the ball. Wow...that's a wide receiver or cornerback. We need to teach to a kids strength and interests. If it wasn't a requirement, I bet most kids wouldn't even take it.

Maybe no one showed up to speak out against Sahouri because they were afraid they would get attackedRead More by a vicious Hartland Eagle in the parking lot. You lose credibility when you get over emotional and attack everyone. We are all entitled to our opinion just like you!
hartland eagle May 5, 2013 at 03:31 pm
Or, maybe no one showed up because they're cowards, content to slander a person that's positivelyRead More impacted hundreds of children in this community. Now you want to slander me. I've threatened no one. Why would you accuse me of being viscous? Thanks for the personal attack.

I totally agree with you Responsible Adult. It is finally good to see someone stand up to her. IRead More know when she was at Ore Creek too she made darn sure that those students took responsibility for their actions, up to and including threatening calling the police over $1.50 piece of pizza and suspension at an activity night because a student was giving food away. Karma is a biotch. She darn well knew those MEAP tests needed to be locked up and in a secure location.
Becca May 2, 2013 at 10:15 pm
Totally agree with you Angela. Anyone who grew up with her & her husband knows what kind ofRead More people they really are. Wouldn't give her a dime.
John Justice May 3, 2013 at 01:26 pm
Obviously you don’t know the Sahouri’s because they are great people. I don’tRead More recall one person speaking negatively of them at the board hearings. She deserves well above the proposed settlement.
eddy May 3, 2013 at 03:59 pm
She deserves to be fired!
dan rice April 13, 2013 at 10:18 pm
using he's never been sued as absolute proof of credibility is a pretty low standard, don't youRead More think?
Nancy April 15, 2013 at 10:28 am
What no one seems to mention (or fails to mention) is: She was a Hartland employee, in anRead More administrative position, who hosted a party that had alcohol available to Hartland students. Whether she supplied it or not, I believe that is in violation of the Michigan Social Host Law.
hartland eagle April 15, 2013 at 12:10 pm
It's not a violation of the law. At all. Suggest you look up the definition of slander. TheRead More prosecutor threw out the case, and the police incident resulted in a judgement of over $100k in favor of sahouri.
