Five people were injured during Monday's multi-vehicle accident in Hartland that sent four adults to the hospital, according to a report from the Michigan State Police–Brighton Post. Police say Mark Brewer, 24, of Detroit was driving a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am with three passengers in the car and was stopped in the east bound lane of M-59 waiting to turn left when his vehicle was struck in the rear by a 2009 Ford Taurus, driven by 47-year-old Jeffery Callaghan of Hartland. The report said Callaghan failed to stop. According to the report, Brewer lost control of his vehicle and traveled into the west bound lanes of M-59 and collided with a 2007 Chevrolet, driven by Robert Donner, 63-years-old, of Howell. Treena Jean Beazley of Howell was arraigned Monday morning in Livingston County and released on a 25K bond.
Updated on Monday at 3:30 p.m. The Livingston County Sheriff's Department has released the name of the 32-year-old driver involved in the fatal accident on Friday night. Treena Jean Beazley from Howell was reportedly driving a 1990 Jeep Wrangler and traveling west on Clyde Rd when she failed to stop for a stop sign and crashed her vehicle into a 2011 Dodge Caliber driven by 56-year-old Roger Miles of Fenton. According to a press release, Beazley sustained a minor injury and was lodged in the Livingston County Jail for operating while intoxicated causing death. Beazley was arraigned Monday morning in Livingston County and released on a 25K bond. Police say Miles was transported by Livingston County Ambulance to Genesys Hospital in Grand …

Rescue crews transported two people to the hospital after a crash occurred around 5 p.m. Monday on Old U.S. 23. A pedestrian riding a bicycle and a LETS (Livingston Essential Transportation Service) bus collided, according to Hartland Fire Chief Adam Carroll. The accident occured in front of the Hartland Insurance building and two victims, the bus driver and the bicyclist, have been transported to the University of Michigan for treatment. Police did not know the condition of the victims or injuries sustained. The accident is still under investigation.

Thanks for answering my question. I wondered if that's what the report said. Either the report is wrong, or maybe the driver was trying to do something out of the ordinary by turning left in that area. (For a U-turn, perhaps). Either way, as it is, it is heart-stopping to slow and eventually stop while turning off from M-59 and that's plenty of reason for change hopefully sooner than later.   more ›
