White Lake-Highland Patch One of the two men facing armed robbery charges in connection with a jewelry store heist in downtown Rochester was coach of a high school girls' soccer team. Kevin Andrew Papuga, 22, of White Lake, was also an assistant coach in a regional youth soccer organization. Papuga and Johnny Matthew Hall, 32, of Troy, were charged in connection with the Nov. 2 robbery of Antiques and Fine Jewelry by Pamela, police in Rochester announced this week. Plymouth-Canton Patch Canton Public Safety has found Bentley Elementary School to be all clear after investigating a bomb threat at the school Monday morning. According to P-CEP Director of Community Relations Mary Holaly, a staff member found a threatening note in one of the school's bathrooms this morning that mentioned a bomb. Holaly said she does not know if the note was on a piece of paper or written on something in the bathroom. The threat was found as students were arriving to school, Holaly said. Plymouth-Canton Patch A local police officer is credited with saving the life of a man attempting to jump off an overpass. Canton Police released patrol car footage this week of the incident at Joy Road and Interstate 275. The Canton Township officer, whose name has not yet been released by the department, responded about 7:30 p.m. Sunday to the area surrounding the overpass for a report of someone leaning over the rail, according to a news release from the department, where approached a man standing atop the bridge looking over northbound I-275. Rochester Patch A 23-year-old Michigan State University senior from Rochester was killed early Saturday at an apartment complex in Meridian Township, according to a report on MLive. Andrew Singler was reportedly injured at an apartment complex and transported to Sparrow Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to reports from a Lansing-area TV station. Meridian Township police report a suspect was arrested, and an investigation is ongoing, MLive reported. White Lake-Highland Patch A 20-year-old Waterford woman was cited for making a false police report by White Lake police on Saturday, after police say she said she was nearly abducted in White Lake. The woman, according to the report, called White Lake police on Friday at 9:30 p.m. and reported that a man had attempted to kidnap her while she was pumping gas at a local gas station. The report states that the woman gave a very detailed description of the truck and the man. Plymouth-Canton Patch Dog owners in a Canton subdivision say their pets have been injured by sharp metal objects found in food placed on the ground around the neighborhood, according to a report from the Canton Observer. According to the report, Canton Police are investigating a string of incidents related to the foreign object-laden food scattered in a common area in the neighborhood of Central Park South northwest of Geddes and Beck roads. The following is a roundup of crime reports from the areas around Hartland. Novi House Broken Into, Spray Painted with Racial Slurs A woman reported that her house on Scarborough Lane was broken into and the interior was spray painted with Asian racial slurs at the end of November, according to a Novi police report. The woman did not report the crime until 10 days later when she was prompted to do so by her insurance provider, the report said, so she is not sure the exact day the incident occurred. She told police she did not know she should report it. The woman currently lives in Indiana, but is in the process of moving back to Novi. Her elderly mother was staying at the house, which is located near Meadowbrook Road and Grand River Avenue…
