Not Just for Kids: Get a Workout at Hartland Playgrounds

Playground fun doesn’t have to be reserved for kids. Adults can enjoy these outdoor play spaces too—and get a great workout at the same time.

Local Trainer Finds Satisfaction Helping Others

Lori Murphy, owner of My Stronger Self, has been helping others maintain a healthy lifestyle in Livingston County for more than 15 years.

Healthy living and fitness have always been a passion for Lori Murphy who says she remembers growing up in the 80's and begging her mom to take her to aerobics classes held in the basement of her church. Popular Gym Moves to Bigger Location to Better Serve their Clients

My Stronger Self moved into their new location on Jan. 2.

My Stronger Self, the fitness center formerly located at 1361 S. Old US 23, recently made a move to accommodate it’s rapidly growing clientele by re-modeling the location at 5283 S. Old US 23 into a bright, usable training center. With large windows letting in natural sunlight and a cardio floor specifically made for safe activity, owner Lori Murphy says the new space was designed to inspire and motivate.  Offering a variety of classes that include yoga, step and Zumba, the new facility also offers a separate room for strength training, a crucial component to any weight loss regiment, according to Murphy. “Strength is my passion,” she said. “I always explain, how do we speed up your metabolism when you’re not working out? The only way to …
