Hartland defeats Walled Lake Central 50-32.
Hartland head coach Don Palmer has had his fair share of greatness in his 34-year career. He was inducted into the Basketball Association of Michigan Hall of Fame in 2006, coached a girl (Christie Schumacher) who once scored 55-points in a game, and has more than 750 wins as a basketball coach. Palmer said what Hartand accomplished last week was the most amazing thing he’s ever seen and that magic continued Tuesday as the Eagles extended their winning streak to 10 games after a 50-32 romp over Walled Lake Central on Tuesday night in the first round of the Kensington Lakes Athletics Association Lakes Conference tournament. “Last week was an unbelievable week. You played a rival in Brighton, a game you had to win against a very good Grand …

Eagles 6-3 win over Sault Area High School captures trophy.
The Hartland Eagles won the 34th annual Lions Hockey Tournament in Sault Ste. Marie in the team’s first-ever participation in the event. Hartland defeated host team Sault Area High School 6-3 in the championship game Saturday at Pullar Stadium. The Eagles won 3-1 over Hancock in the opening round. The wins not only snapped a three-game losing streak – the longest any current Eagle has seen as a member of the varsity team – they helped build confidence according to Zach Bodziak. “I think we gained our confidence back. The teams we played, they’re both really talented. We played like we should,” Bodziak said. “I think everyone had a lot of fun. It was a good chance to get away and bond. We had all 20 guys skating finally.” Hancock is …

Eagles drop game 8-4.
BLOOMFIELD HILLS – Lake Orion scored just seven seconds into the contest and scored three goals in the third period to defeat Hartland 8-4. Daniel Chapie scored the opening goal after he poked away the puck from a Hartland player following an Eagles’ face-off win. Chapie took a shot from just inside the circle that deflected off a Hartland defender and fluttered its way past Hartland goalie Aaron Zeddell. From that point on the Hartland defense struggled. “They moved the puck well and played hard all night. They exploited our defense,” Hartland assistant coach Dan Copeland said. “We had an off night on defense and it showed.” Hartland (6-4-1) managed to cut a three-goal deficit to just one in the second period, following goals by Ryan …

5-1 win another almost shutout.
WATERFORD — Hartland senior goalie Aaron Zeddell was once again so close to gaining a shutout victory, and like he did against Walled Lake Northern, he lost it, this time with 25 seconds left on a shot by Kevin Lechner. That goal was the only one that Zeddell and Hartland surrendered in a 5-1 rout over Lakeland on Wednesday night at the Lakeland Tri-Arena. Lechner made good on his only shot of the night on a 1-on-1 rush, he slipped the puck past the left side of Zeddell. "My angles were off a little bit. I fell asleep a little bit," Zeddell said. "He beat me, it was my fault totally." Zeddell made 12 saves in the contest and attributes most of that to his defense. "We controlled the play a lot, in the first period we were really on our …
