Hartland Varsity Blue Wins League Championship

Hartland Varsity Blue won the first ever Livingston County Athletic Jr. Football League (LCAJFL) championship game 34 to 14 against Hartland Varsity Gold.

By Kim Rinna On Saturday, October 27, Hartland Varsity Blue won the first ever Livingston County Athletic Jr. Football League (LCAJFL) championship game 34 to 14 against Hartland Varsity Gold.  After eliminating 31 other varsity youth teams throughout eleven different communities, two Hartland varsity teams, Hartland Blue and Hartland Gold, finished in first and second place after the league playoffs. The two undefeated Hartland teams, comprised of seventh and eighth graders, competed against each other in the league championship game. After the win for Varsity Blue each player, from both teams, was awarded a participation medal and Varsity Blue was awarded the league championship trophy. Hartland Loses First Round to Catholic Central, 21-15

The Eagles football season ends after a 8-1 regular season record.

Detroit Catholic Central held on to beat Hartland 21-15 in a first round playoff game Friday night. Jon Malone returned the opening kickoff 97 yards to give the Shamrocks a quick 7-0 lead.   Hartland started their first drive at their own 22 yard line. The Eagles had some opening game nerves as they had two false start penalties in the first series.  After a Shamrock interception by Kevin Walsh at the Hartland 34 yard line, the Eagle defense stood strong. Hartland held on fourth and five to get the ball back. Both defenses took over for the rest of the first period as Catholic Central had a 7-0 as the opening quarter ended. We all see things during the game that we question. I saw numerous holds in the backfield trying to stop CCs pass rush not called. Petty pass interference calls in Hartland's favor. etc. . Both teams played their hearts out. And if you were watching the play, he got free by pushing off on the defender.   more ›

Hartland Football has Two Varsity Youth Teams Competing for Championship

The Hartland HAYAA league has two teams competing in the Livingston County Area Jr. Football League championship games.

By Kimberly Rinna Two Hartland varsity youth football teams within HAYAA - HARTLAND BLUE & HARTLAND GOLD – have made it to the first ever Livingston County Area Jr. Football League (LCAJFL) championship game.  There were 33 varsity teams that began the season including four from Hartland.  There are 11 cities that participate in the LCAJFL from Hartland, Howell, Brighton, Byron, Fowlerville, Lakeland, Hamburg, Milford, South Lyon, Webberville and Whitmore Lake.  Thirty-one varsity teams were eliminated in the playoffs leaving two Hartland teams to play in the championship game this Saturday.  Both Hartland teams playing in the championship are undefeated this season. Hartland Takes on Catholic Central in First Game of Playoffs

Hartland will play the first round of the playoffs on Friday.

The Hartland High School varsity football team will begin its quest for the Division 1 state title against Detroit Catholic Central on Friday. The two teams will face off at 7 p.m. at Hartland High School.  CC is going into the game with a record of 5-4 in the Catholic High School Central League, while Hartland is 8-1 in the KLAA-West. In 2010, Hartland's playoff run ended in the first round to Holt High School, 41-16. This information was provided in a press release from the MHSAA. Qualifying teams for the playoffs were divided into eight divisions of 32 schools each. Within each division are four regions of eight teams each; and within those regions are two districts of four teams each. Pre-district pairings are based on regular-season …

Hartland Loses Heartbreaker on Senior Night & Pink Out Night

Hartland loses to Walled Lake Northern, 52-55.

The Hartland Eagles lost a heartbreaker to Walled Lake Northern 55-52 in the KLAA Conference Championship game Friday night. The large home crowd honored 27 senior players along with five cheerleaders and two members of the Pom Team. The game seemed like it basketball on grass as both teams put on an offensive show scoring 107 total points between them. Hartland players, cheerleaders and the Pom team wore pink socks. Walled Lake Northern scored first on a 63 yard bomb on the second play of the game to take a quick 7-0 lead. The Knights kicked a 33 yard field goal at the 3:57 mark of the first quarter for a 10-0 lead. Hartland Football Fans Show their Pink Pride

Hartland's third annual Pink Out football game raises money for Relay for Life.

The Hartland Eagles lost their first game this season, 52-55 against Walled lake Northern, but the community won while raising money for breast cancer. The annual Pink Out game raises money for Hartland's Relay for Life event in May. Hartland students, players and fans came out to cheer their team and show their pink support on Friday night. Undefeated Eagles are 7-0!

Hartland football defeats Grand Blanc, 34- 22, clinching the KLAA West Division Championship.

In a historic night, the Hartland Eagles football team beat Grand Blanc to not only remain undefeated, but also claim the title of KLAA West Division champions. For the first time in history, the high school football team is 7-0 and the last time Hartland won a Division title was 1998 when they tied with Brighton. In a game where Hartland dominated the field and scoreboard, Austin Pierce scored three touchdowns and ran for 124 yards, according to the Press & Argus. Do you have photos from the game? Hartland Defeats Rival Brighton, 35-14.

The Eagles historic football season continues to impress with 6-0 start.

Hartland scored twice in the first quarter to lead 13-0. Brighton stormed back in the second quarter led by quarterback Chase Browning. Browning hooked with Mark Konieczny on a 46 yard pass giving the Bulldogs a first and goal at the 4-yard line. Konieczny scored from 4-yards out cutting the lead to 13-7.  Three minutes later Browning hit Konieczny on a 40-yard bomb down to Hartland’s 4-yard line. Konieczny plunged into the end zone at the 5 minute mark. Jacob Pardonnet converted on the extra point giving the Bulldogs a 14-13 lead. Hartland came right back to take the lead for good on a 17-yard touchdown pass from Stephen Milarch to Anthony Villar with just 7 seconds left in the second quarter.
