The Hartland High School High School hockey team lost 3-2 to Detroit Country Day at home Thursday after giving up three unanswered goals in the third peroid. The Eagles, now 6-5-1 on the year, next plays 3 p.m. Saturday at Birmingham United.

WRESTLING — The varsity team won the Wyandotte Roosevelt tournament Saturday while the JV captured the Livonia Clarenceville tourney, according to @hartlandsports. The Eagles' Mitchel Thomas won the Wyandotte event's outstanding wrestler and Justin Rollins captured the same award at the Clarenceville tournament, @hartlandsports tweeted. Thomas, who wrestles at 152 pounds, was 4-0 during the 19-team event, according to an article in the Livingston County Daily Press & Argus. "He was dominant," Hartland coach Todd Cheney told the newspaper. "He wrestled outstanding." HOCKEY —Hartland defeated Waterford Mott 6-2 Wednesday at the Hartland Sports Arena, according to @hartlandsports. It was a big win for the Eagles, tweeted @hartland sports, as the team knocked off the first place team in the Kensington Lakes Activities Association North Division. Tyler Allen and Ryan Daavettila led the Eagles with two goals each, according to the Livingston County Daily Press & Argus. Max Landry and Nick Pleshakov also found the net, the article said. The Eagles, now 3-1-1 overall and 2-1-1 in the KLAA West, head north to play in a holiday tourament in Traverse City next week.
