Hartland football takes another win during the 2012 Homecoming game.
The Hartland Eagles sank the Pinckney Pirates 19-7 Friday night during a steady rain. The Eagle defense turned in a sparkling effort before a large homecoming crowd. Hartland defensive lineman Markus Inman blocked a Pinckney field goal attemp with 3:34 left in the first quarter. After a scoreless first quarter, Hartland got on the board with a 34 yard touchdown pass from quarterback Stephen Milarch to wide receiver Brandon Gigliotti with just 58 seconds remaining in the 1st half. The Eagles missed the extra point to take a 6-0 lead. The Pirates came right back after two long pass completions to take a 7-6 lead into the locker room at the half. Seniors Bryan Condra and Megan Bierer are named as the 2012 Homecoming King and Queen.
It was a damp coronation ceremony, but nothing could dampen the smiles of the two seniors who took home the title and honor of the 2012 Hartland king and queen. Last year's king and queen, Korey Boutell and Lauren Mioduszewski, were on hand to crown seniors Bryan Condra and Megan Bierer during halftime of the big game. The Eagles won the game 19-7.

Let the Homecoming games begin! The 2012 theme for Hartland's Homecoming is The Hunger Games, based off of the popular book series. In the series, the games of survival were held in different arenas, so each grade at Hartland High School decorated their class hallway using different possible locations. The seniors chose a jungle theme, juniors chose tropical, sophomores chose an arctic theme while freshmen chose a desert theme. Sixteen high school students were also voted by their peers to represent the 2012 Homecoming court. A senior girl and boy will be chosen as the king and queen will be announced during halftime of Friday night's game against Pinkney. Pre-game events for Hartland students only will start at 5:30 p.m. in the courtyard…
