Alice Andrews, the director of the Hartland Senior Center, has been chosen as the 2013 Grand Marshal of the 78th Annual Hartland Memorial Day parade. As the senior center director for more than 20 years, Andrews was also nominated by Hartland Patch readers as one of the community’s “Greatest Person’s. In the Hartland Patch story, Community Education Director Michelle Otis called Andrews “one of the best sharers I know.” “She’s one of the greatest people in Hartland and I think it’s because not only her dedication to the job but her to dedication to people,” Otis said. “She has a way of modeling the way everyone should strive to be.” According to Community Life Newspaper, Andrews and her family moved to Livingston County in 1986, where she…

Forms for ads to run in annual Memorial Day booklet are now available.

The theme of "Remember and Respect," has been chosen by the Hartland Area Community Council for the 78th annual Hartland Memorial Day parade. Forms for ads that will run in the annual booklet are now being accepted on the Council's website with a dealine to submit your information by April 19. Ad prices range from $25 for a business card ad, $50 for a half page ad and $90 for a fill page ad. According to the Community Council's website, buying an ad will help to sponsor the annual parade as well as: Payments will be accepted at the Hartland Area Community Council. The Hartland Area Community Council plans several events throughout the year for residents to enjoy, including Hartland's Memorial Day parade, luminary walk and other local events. Planning for the 2013 Memorial Day events is currently under way with HACC meetings scheduled for the first Monday of every month. The monthly meetings take place at Hartland Middle School from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and new volunteers are always welcome and encouraged to attend. The Hartland Community Pancake Breakfast starts at 7am -11am. All you can eat pancakes with sausage, apple sauce, orange juice and coffee. $6 for adults and $4 for children and senior citizens. Held at Village Elementary, just East of Epley Park. Come park, have breakfast and then go to the parade.   more ›
