Hartland Students Deliver Thank You Messages to Local Firefighters

Hannah Schultz and Raven O'Rourke delivered handwritten thank you notes to the Hartland Fire Department as a random act of kindness.

Carrying more than 35 “thank you” letters handwritten by their fellow classmates, two Hartland High School students visited the Hartland Fire Department last week to share a random act of kindness.  Hannah Schultz and Raven O'Rourke, both high school juniors, had set up a table during their lunch period where students were able to stop by and write notes to the local firefighters with messages such as “Thank you for protecting us - you guys rock,” and  “ You have inspired me, thank you.” Delivering their random act of kindness messages to the fire department, the Hartland students said they have enjoyed surprising people with many of the other random acts they have done throughout their school year. A Random Act of Kindness Reaches Hartland Woman Through a Book of Stamps

The Livingston County United Way is asking for your Random Acts of Kindness stories.

This past December, with just days before Christmas, Hartland resident Lori Gaines was in the midst of her own hustle and bustle of the holidays, running errands and checking off items from her To Do list. Stopping in at the Hartland Hallmark, Gaines had picked up a last-minute card to send to a relative and requested to buy a single stamp so she could mail the card that day. Being told only a book of stamps was available, Gaines says she was reaching into her wallet to pay when she was told by the Hallmark employee to read the note wrapped around the stamps. “These stamps are for you.
