If so, there are bound to be some great photos - dig through that old shoebox; find that file folder or scroll way down on your profile pictures — they’re bound to be somewhere. Whether you were a Marine abroad, a soldier in Germany, or have a loved one who served in Iraq or Afghanistan, Patch wants to see your photos and videos, as well as hear your story. Heading up to Veteran's Day on Sunday, Nov. 11, here's a look at some businesses in Hartland and the nearby areas that are offering free food, discounts and even Slurpees to veterans and servicemembers, courtesy ofthemilitarywallet.com. Hartland Family Remembered on Veterans Day

During the Civil War, Adaline Johnson's family served its country with distinction.

Veterans Day is a celebration to honor America's veterans for their patriotism, love of country and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good. The sacrifices a veteran makes affects everyone around them. Sometimes, it is the families that have to endure the hardships that come with military service. I would like to tell you about a Hartland family and one person in particular — Adaline Johnson — whose service and sacrifice rose above most others. Born Adaline Waugh in Genesee County in upstate New York on May 7, 1819, Adaline's father, James Waugh, was a veteran of the War of 1812.
