Red Wings Alumni to Play Hockey for O'Rourke Charity

Tickets are still available for Dec. 21 charity game at Plymouth’s Compuware Arena.

The Detroit Red Wings Alumni Association and the Joe Kocur Foundation for Children will hit the ice at Compuware Arena in Plymouth Dec. 21 to play a charity hockey game, the proceeds of which will be donated to the O'Rourke Family Trust. O'Rourke, 39, was fatally shot Sept. 9 while responding with other officers to what police believed could have been a suicidal man. You get it? Yeah, divorce sucks, but understanding murder? Police officers put their lives on the line for all of us daily, and Mr. O'Rourke paid the ultimate price in offering aid. My heart breaks for his wife, his children, and the rest of his family and friends. You think it's only tough for Coley? How about raising 4 kids on a public servants salary?
