5 Things to Know About Heritage Day in Hartland

Hartland's Heritage Day includes activities such as a pet parade, face painting, “living” tours in Hartland Cemetery, tractor/wagon tours of the Village area, Museum will be open, 4-H petting zoo, food, open house at the Music Hall, Civil War re-enactors, strolling Barber Shop quartet, pet parade, games, and more. 

Here are five quick tips to know about Heritage Day:

1. Date: Heritage Day will take place on Saturday, September 21 from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m.

2. Vendors: Vendors must supply their own tables and tents, and the road will be closed to vehicular traffic. Vendor spots are available for individuals, community nonprofit groups and for commercial businesses. The application form is available on the Hartland Community Council web site, under Events and Activities

3. Community Involvement: Everyone is encouraged to dress in somewhat historical attire and local merchants are encouraged to have a scarecrow on display the week prior.

4. Wanted: Quilters and fiber people to display their work and demonstrate, at Hartland United Methodist Church from 10-noon, and 1-4. Contact Barbara Krueger at 248-887-1283. Also people to demonstrate all types of crafts:  woodworkers, wood carvers, knitters, weavers, and others. Application form on website. 

5. Heritage Day Photo Contest: The 2nd Annual Heritage Day photo contest application form is on Hartland Community Council website. The photos will be displayed on the second floor of Cromaine Library, beginning September 6.
