Ask the Trainer Tuesday: Warming Up

Listen in as Lori Murphy, personal trainer and fat loss expert, answers this week's question regarding getting enough sleep and how it can affect your weight loss efforts.

Ask the Trainer Tuesday: Sleep Deprivation & Weight Loss

Listen in as we answer this week's questions regarding warming up before exercise as well getting enough sleep and how it can affect your weight loss efforts.

Does any of this sound familiar? If you’re feeling sleepy at work, you may be tempted to reach for a cup of coffee (or several cups) and a doughnut for a quick shot of energy. Later you may skip the gym and pick up takeout on your way home to your family -- no time to cook. When you finally find yourself back in your bed, you are too wound up to sleep.

It’s a vicious cycle, and eventually this sleep deprivation can sabotage your waistline and your health.

Let us know if we can answer any health or fitness related questions in our "Ask the Trainer Tuesday" video blog.

What do you recommend for someone with a cake addiction? I just can't resist the sweet temptation!
Lori Murphy July 1, 2012 at 11:47 pm
Well you're not the first person we've met with a cake addiction! I like the sweet treats myself on occasion. I think the best way to start eliminating the items you know are not helping your diet is to get them out of your house. If they are always around, you are just torturing yourself by constantly testing your will power. It's not easy, but if not it's not on hand it will be harder for you to give in. It's OK to treat yourself once in a while. So go out and split a piece of cake with a friend. Just don't have it in your home. Hope this helps! :-)

Same here. We spent most of the day and evening on Saturday at the carnival. Kids had a blast withRead More the unlimited ride band and they were able to spent time with school friends before the summer off. I didn't see any problems, fights or anything else some people seemed to be worried about. The carnival even kept rides open after 11:00pm for those last few kids that wanted to get on one more time. Hope we can get something again in September or October.
